A small article in National Geographic (Feb.2008) reported the shocking news that some estimate that true redheads might become extinct by 2100 since carriers of the carrot-top gene are increasingly less likely to pair up (a child usually needs a copy of the gene from each parent to get the red result). Only 2% of the world's population is estimated to be redheads, while $123 million dollars are spent in the U.S. on red hair dye every year! This blog is one redhead's attempt to find as many natural redheads as possible and to share their photos with the world to prove that Red Ain't Dead!
